How to Use a Jaxa Wrench

The Swiss-made Jaxa watch wrench is specifically designed to make it easier to open the back of watch cases for larger watches, including waterproof watches and water-resistant watches. The wrench opens the watch without causing scratching or other damages. The wrench is equipped with an ergonomic design that provides a firm, yet comfortable grip.

The Jaxa wrench will open diameters from 18mm to 62mm and is supplied with four different chucks that give you a wider range of options: three for polygonal cases, three for slotted cases, three for cases with holes and three for grooved cases.

  1. Remove the watchstrap or band to prevent it get in your way and making working on the watch difficult. This may require pin removers.

  2. Place the three teeth to fit the three slots and adjust to create a triangle. Be certain that the three teeth have equal base length.

  3. With the watch in your palm, face down, use your other hand to hold the Jaxa wrench to firmly but carefully press it onto the watchcase back.

  4. Turn the handle to close the three chucks, and then firmly turn the Jaxa wrench counter-clockwise to open the watch back.

  5. Loosen the Jaxa wrench before you lift the back off the watch to avoid misshaping the case back.

  6. It is important that you do not force the Jaxa wrench if the watch back is tight and does not screw off. If this is the case, take the watch to a watch specialist or jeweler to avoid causing damage to your watch.
