Mini PC Components
Many computer components take their form based on the size classification and intended use of the specific computer in which they will be used. However, the fundamental components of a computer remain unaltered regardless to size and use of the computer.
Motherboard
Considered a primary component of mini-PCs, it allows the other components to interact with, or communicate with, each other. With all PCs, the motherboard in a mini-PC also provides a portal for the other components of the system to plug into the motherboard's circuitry so that they can transmit signals back and forth to each other.
Power Supply
The power supply is one of the most important components of the mini-PC due to the fact that some applications need for integration of the power supply into the motherboard. This is in contrast to methods used with full-sized PCs that utilize a plug-in style power supply.
Graphics Card
More and more mini-Pc manufacturers are also discovering that a video card or graphics card is another component that best serves the users consumer applications through integration into the motherboard rather than the plug-in version as used in with a standard PC. The video card is responsible for governing the visual output provided from the mini-PC.
Chip
The chip, also referred to as the central processing unit (CPU), or the microprocessor, serves as the computer's brain and is responsible for all the operations that the computer performs.
