Concerns When Owning a 24 Hour Launderette

Setting Up a Launderette Business

Launderette business is a good way to earn an income. It is a business that gives you the option to choose either a manned or unmanned operation. This type of business can have relatively strong profit margin provided the owner selects a location where the service is in demand and work hard to build the business.

Types of Business

One of the main considerations when you decide to start a launderette business is deciding the type of laundry business you want to own. You have to decide whether a manned operation or an unmanned operation is best alternative. A manned operation means that you have to work the business every day. Show up to the facility, open and handle any transaction. An unmanned operation allows more flexibility because you can open the business daily, or hire some to open the business, stock the machines and make sure everything is in good working order. Then, you can leave and handle what other activities you have to handle for the day.

Location

Location cannot be taken lightly when you set up a launderette business. High traffic areas close to residential communities are the best location, especially a location with apartment dwellers and homeowners. Not only is location important, give careful consideration to parking for your customers. Customers have to be able to load and unload their clothing with ease when they park at your business.

Expenses

Water, gas and electricity will cost you the most monthly. Look for appliances that are energy efficient when you buy your appliances. Talk to your local utility companies to verify that all your commercial equipment can meet the commercial laundry production demand. Customers will not want to use your business if your boiler unit does not have the capacity to provide sufficient hot water.

Equipment

Purchase all the required launderette equipment for the business and add convenience items plus impulsive items such as snacks and drinks. This way you can create residual income for the business.
