How to Cure Skin Diseases at Home

Types of Facial Skin Diseases

The first feature one sees when they interact with someone is their face.  This could be why some people go to great lengths to shave, wax their eyebrows or put on makeup. Knowing this fact can cause anxiety for a particular portion of the population. Unfortunately some individuals may suffer from one of the many facial skin diseases that currently exist.

Eczema

One of the most common skin diseases is dermatitis. It gives the skin a red, dry, flaky appearance. This chronic disease usually begins as patchy rashes. Since it can be itchy, constant scratching may cause the rashes to bleed and ooze. Although the rashes tend to come and go, there is no cure unfortunately.  The Federal Drug Association has recently approved topical medications such as Protopic and Elidel to treat eczema.

Vitiligo

Patches of discolored skin characterize this condition. The light or whitish patches appear when melanocytes stop producing melanin- the dark pigment, which gives our skin and eyes color. There is no explanation for its cause. It affects all races and all ages, but tends to appear in adolescence. There is no treatment but patients with this disease usually apply makeup or depigmentization creams to even out the skin tone.

Rosacea

Some people suffer from skin redness around the cheekbones, nose, chin, and forehead region. This inflamed appearance may include pimples. These chronic symptoms can be incited by certain foods, weather conditions, and medications. There have been several hypotheses on the cause of rosacea and there is no known cure. Medications such as Metronidazole and erythromycin are often prescribed to treat the symptoms.
