Where do you need Printing And Publishing Companies ?

Updates & tips

Surviving and advertising during hard times

With todays economy and an uncertain near future small business needs to remember to continue to advertise. When things get tight the first thing a lot of businesses do is cut back on advertising. Advertising is a key to growth and without advertising potential customers may see the competition instead of you. If money is tight you need to become more creative in your advertising, and look for more cost effective ways to bring that customer into your business. Business cards are a cheap form of advertising as well as postcards for mailings. Be creative, at Dynamic Printing we are constantly thinking about different ways to attract attention in our direction. As a printing business I know how tough it can be attracting new customers today, the internet and improved laser printers try to pull customers away from us. Over the last several months we began to take advantage of the opportunities the internet provides to us as well as our usual measures of advertising. Depending on your industry and/or location there should be different opportunities available to you. Feel free to visit our website at www.dynamicprinter.com to download a price list, beginning in early August check out our new specials page we are adding to our website. This page will include package deals on brochures, catalogs, business cards and more. During todays hard times don't get discouraged, tighten the belt and keep advertising it will all work out in the end.

Doing business with local government

This month I came across an issue of trying to get work from local government. Four to six weeks ago I tried to get work from the local town hall, I figured since it's a bad economy why not try and hit my town hall for printing after all my prices are very competitive especially when it comes to booklets, catalogs and stationery. Isn't it the job of purchasing agents to shop around and get the best deal for the taxpayers. I've been located in this town since 2001 and after all I pay property taxes and the tax collector has no problem finding me every year and so does the fire marshal to inspect me, so why not try. Not so - I got the run around, I was told they have 2 printers already. I was sent from one department to another to another. This took a couple weeks, finally I sent an email to the First Selectman. Now I know that I'm not top priority but he did get back to me pretty quick, and sent me to the first person I contacted in the beginning. This time was a little different, I got new people to contact and I am now in the process of contacting them. I was wondering how many of you have had the same experience?

Is it stimulus or just spending?

Lately all you hear about is the government stimulus package. Personally I think it's just a shopping spree with what ever program they want to enact. I don't believe it's going to do much in the long run except put us farther in debt. If 5% of home mortgages are the problem why not just bail out the home owners who are in trouble. No one has to be given a free house just make it affordable for the people who can prove they can pay it back. If unemployment is a problem why not just lower business taxes so we can afford to hire more employees - problem solved. Instead the Obama and Bush administrations just keep trying to spend their way out of it. Hide your check book 'cause we are going to get one hell of a bill. And just in case any one was wondering I don't agree with either parties solutions. Sorry to be so political this month.
