Tight Boiler Installation

Earlier this week we installed a new Burnham Q206 in one of the tightest boiler rooms I've ever worked in. The room was no bigger than a closet, and similarly, it was used for storage. The only "easy" part of the job was that it was a first floor installation, so transporting the old and new boiler was done with minimal difficulty.  Once the new boiler was in place, we took a good amount of time deciding how to pipe it in such a way that it could be easily accessed for future maintenance. The idea was to make the left side of the boiler completely accessible and in doing so, some intricate piping was required.  To make this easily accessible, comfortable work space, we needed to re-pipe one of the two zones completely. The old zone ran along the floor on the left side of the boiler straight into a tapping on the bottom of the boiler. We rerouted the line to the back wall of the boiler room, up the wall, and back into the return manifold. This created some much needed space on the left side of the boiler. We then ran the gas line across the top of the boiler jacket and into the left side of the boiler. We completed the piping by running the water feed across the ceiling to the right side of the boiler, across the top of the boiler jacket and into the feed manifold.  The completed job allowed for plenty of room, and a gorgeous installation.
