About Huntingdon

Huntington, located about half way between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg, is a city in Huntington County, Pennsylvania. The city has the nickname "Standing Stone" and it's motto is "Our Home, Our Town". Budget Travel Magazine listed Huntington as fifth on it's list of the "Coolest Small Towns in the United States". The city's is home to many different industries because of it's location such as agriculture and fruit growing as well as iron, coal, fire clay, and limestone. The students here attend the Huntington Area School District. Huntington is home to other schools including Juanita College, DuBoise Business College, Calvary Christian Academy, and the Huntington Christian Academy. Major attractions in the city include Flag Pole Hill, Portstown Park, and the Juanita River Pedestrian Walkway. Famous people with ties to Huntington include game show host Dylan Lane and former football coach Chuck Knox.
