Chocolate Fondue Raw Food Recipe
Chocolate is a favorite food for many, and chocolate fondue is an interesting way to eat chocolate. With chocolate fondue, chocolate is melted to a liquid and kept hot in a fondue pot. Raw food is then dipped into the hot chocolate liquid with skewers.
Ingredients for Chocolate
- Nine ounces of chocolate, broken up into pieces. You can use milk chocolate, dark chocolate or even white chocolate. Remember that darker chocolates will have less sweetness than milk chocolate.
- Half a cup of light cream. Half-and-Half may be used as a substitute.
- Three tablespoons of agave syrup, honey or light corn syrup.
- One teaspoon of pure vanilla extract. Imitation vanilla will do as a substitute, but the real deal is always more desirable.
Foods for Dipping
- Bananas. Remove the peel and cut the banana into chunks.
- Strawberries. Remove the leaves and cut large berries in half or quarters.
- Pineapple. Remove the outer skin of the fruit and cut into pieces.
- Peaches. Remove the pit and slice.
- Any other raw fruit desired.
Directions
- Heat your chosen syrup and light cream over high heat. Keep a close eye so that the mixture does not boil.
- Add the chocolate pieces while stirring.
- Lower the heat and stir until the chocolate pieces are melted. Continue to watch the mixture as chocolate can easily scorch, ruining the entire batch of chocolate.
- Add vanilla and stir in.
- Transfer the chocolate sauce to the fondue pot.
- Dip raw fruit into the chocolate from skewers. Allow the chocolate to cool before eating.
