How to Use a Cuisinart Electric Fondue Set

Fondue is a lovely way to enjoy either an entree or a dessert. Electric fondue sets allow you to make fondue without dealing with an open flame at your dinner table or coffee table. Cuisinart makes a complete electric fondue set which includes the pot itself, a fork ring and fondue forks.

  1. Set the controls to "Off" before you plug in your Cuisinart electric fondue pot. Make sure the thermostat is plugged firmly into the fondue pot, then plug the other end into the electrical outlet.

  2. Place the fondue pot on a stable surface. Once it is in use, the fondue will be extremely hot.

  3. Turn on the fondue pot. Depending on the type of fondue you are making, you will use different temperature settings on the thermostat.

  4. Add either your cheese, chocolate or broth to the fondue pot. Use the recipes included in the instruction manual or use fondue recipes from cookbooks or from the Internet. Allow the ingredients to cook together or to melt before dipping your food items.

  5. Place the plastic fork ring on top of the fondue pot. The fork ring holds fondue forks but it also helps to protect users from the hot liquid inside the fondue pot.

  6. Dip your bread or fruit into the cheese or chocolate with your fondue forks. If you are cooking meat in broth, allow the forks to rest in the broth with chunks of meat on each. Remove the meat from the fondue pot with the fork when it has cooked.

  7. Turn the fondue pot off using the thermostat control when you are finished. Allow the pot to cool before moving or cleaning it.
