How to Clean a Fondue Pot
Fondue pots were once a popular item years ago. They are once again making a return and more popular than before. They are great to have for a quick appetizer but they can also be messy when it is time to clean them. This should not deter you from using them.
Materials Needed
- Spatula
- Can with lid
- Pot
- Liquid dish soap
- Scrub brush
- Clean cloth
- Place the fondue pot on a flat surface and allow it to cool for several hours before you attempt to clean it.
- Take a spatula and use it to clean as much of the fondue sauce from inside the pot. If there is remaining oil, pour it in a can and seal the can. Avoid pouring the oil into the plumbing because it can cause clogs.
- Place a large pot on the stove and fill it with water. It should be enough water to fill the fondue pot. Turn on the stove and allow the water to come to a boil. Remove the pot of boiling water from the stove.
- Place the fondue pot in the sink. Pour the boiling water into the fondue pot. Squirt six drops of liquid dish soap into the fondue pot. Make sure the water fills the entire fondue pot.
- Allow the hot water and soap to loosen the contents in the fondue pot for 30 minutes. Pour some of the cleaning solution out of the pot and scrub the pot with a scrub brush. The contents should be easy to remove. Do not scrub the pot with harsh objects.
- Pour the liquid out of the fondue pot. Turn on the water and rinse the soap from the pot. Use a clean cloth to dry the pot. Allow the pot to further dry for 30 minutes and store it away until you need it again.
