How do Concrete Trucks Work?

Using a concrete truck can save valuable time and money in any construction job. Anytime a large amount of concrete is required the truck will be the best option. While they are most commonly used in huge projects they can also be used for home patios, driveways and porches too.

Concrete trucks are an important part of any instruction job. Because concrete is used for so many different things such as roads, sidewalks, overpasses, buildings, gates and most any other structure you can think of concrete trucks are an important asset to have. Read on to learn how they work.

Its Uses

A concrete truck is used basically to combine the necessary elements to get concrete. When they are used in the industry, a facility will rent out cement trucks if they do not already own them. The trucks they rent out will deliver the cement anywhere within a 90 mile radius.

Mixing Element

The mixing element inside of the truck is what keeps the concrete from hardening. If something happens to it, then they will need anything from jackhammers to dynamite to break up and remove the concrete. This is a very dangerous, expensive and long process.

Delivering the Concrete

The mixing of the concrete happens when it is en route to its location it is needed. Once the truck reaches its destination, the spiral screw inside of the truck will begin to reverse in its direction. An older cement truck will require a person to come along and guide the chute that the cement comes out of. Newer trucks do not need a person to control the chute by hand as it can be controlled from inside the cabin of the truck. Some trucks are made specifically for special jobs, like upper foundations. They will have hoses that are flexible that the concrete mix will come out of.
