How to Connect an Embroidery Sewing Machine to a Computer
Embroidery machines can be connected to computers and laptops in order to transfer downloaded files, designs and embroidery patterns. Most embroidery machines come with the necessary cables to do this. If your machine did not come with these cables, they can be purchased from the embroidery machine manufacturer website.
1. Locate the USB cords that are used to connect the embroidery sewing machine to the computer. Some embroidery machines will have a cord with a USB tip on each end, others will have a USB tip that plugs into the computer and a different tip to plug into the machine.
2. Plug the USB end of the connector cords into your computer and the opposite end into the embroidery sewing machine. Plug the embroidery machine into a power outlet and turn the power switch on.
3. Click on the "Start" button the computer desktop toolbar. Click on the "My Computer" tab and then choose the "Removable Disk" folder. This will give you access to the files that are saved on the embroidery machine. You can send any saved designs to the embroidery machine from this folder.
4. Transfer any files or designs you have saved on your computer to the embroidery machine. You may need to download a file transfer program to do this. Some embroidering machines or computer may come with this software already installed.
5. Once you have transferred the files, attempt to create a design with the embroidery machine to make sure the machine is connected to your computer properly and is able to transfer and share designs.
