  1. Purchase ice cube trays or specialty containers in the sizes and shapes that you would like your ice cubes to be shaped. You can find a variety of different styles of ice cube trays and containers at your local department store.

  2. Choose a variety of different shapes so that you have a variety of different ice cube shapes in order to add visual interest.

  3. Fill the ice cube trays or specialty containers that you have purchased with water. Take care not to overfill the trays so that the shape of the ice cubes comes out the way that they are meant to. You want to be sure that each ice cube spot is filled evenly so that your ice cubes will all come out the way that they were designed to.

  4. Place the ice cube trays into your freezer in a spot where they are not likely to get bumped or disturbed during the freezing process.

  5. Allow the ice cubes to sit in the freezer for around two hours so that they are thoroughly frozen before removing them.

  6. Remove the trays from the freezer after the allotted time has passed, and then twist the ice cube trays in order to release the ice cubes.

  7. Place your ice cubes that are completed back into a freezer so that they do not begin to melt. You do not want the ice cubes to stick together.

  8. Refill your ice cube trays and repeat the process until you have made as many ice cubes as you desire.

  9. Remove them from the freezer when you are ready to use them.
