How to Open a Mediterranean Restaurant

If you have a passion for Mediterranean foods and culture, opening a restaurant may be a great way to share your passion with others. Mediterranean restaurants are very popular as they offer quality food, beautiful atmosphere and a touch of culture. Before you open your restaurant, there are specific steps and considerations to take into account to ensure your establishment is a success.

  1. Decide on a location. Prime location is critical to a restaurant success. Also, decide on the desired atmosphere for the establishment. A romantic atmosphere and memories of the Mediterranean help to draw your clientele. The decor is of high priority; if you do not have an excellent design sense, hire a decorator.  The restaurant business is extremely competitive and your decor is a magnet when you open, for an excellent customer base.

  2. Acquire all local licensees and permits to open your restaurant. Be sure you follow all health codes and regulations.

  3. Hire a three to four star culinary chef, with a specialty in Mediterranean cuisine, French bistro, Italian Rustic or Greek Cuisine. Your restaurant will have attentive customers, who will love your food and look forward to the next evening or weeks selections.

  4. Do not cut corners on quality foods and preparations; this is the key ingredient to success. Poor quality food will turn customers away and damage your reputation within the area.  Elegant dining or bistro Mediterranean food demands a upper end tone, people are willing to pay for this atmosphere, but they will be much more unforgiving, if the food quality diminishes.

  5. Offer romantic evenings to bring couples for special opening celebrations. Always offering your equisit cuisine and ambiance regardless of time and day. Twitter and social media can play an important role in your restaurant's opening. Try several concept-marketing techniques with opening special events over a few months, marketing through Facebook and Twitter. Market throughout the local community as well.
