How to Rent a Large Concrete Mixer

You do not necessarily need a professional come and lay a concrete foundation. It is possible, with the right equipment, to pour your own foundation. A concrete mixer can be rented, which makes the job easier. It will also save you money.

Directions:

  1. Shop around hardware stores and equipment rentals in your area. The larger hardware chains usually have equipment rentals, including cement mixers. You can also rent cement mixers and various other types of equipment through local equipment rental facilities. Price them to make a determination as to which would be the most economical.

  2. Choose the right size mixer for your job. There are different mixers available for rent. You need to consider what size mixer you need to do the job you want done. However, you also need to consider transportation for the mixer. Some can hook up to a car, whereas others are going to be harder to transport.

  3. Rent the mixer according to the duration needed. Typically, concrete mixers will be rented by the day for a certain daily fee. Make sure you have enough time to do the job, and probably some extra time in case of an unforeseen delay (bad weather, etc.). You will need to put down a deposit with the rental equipment as well.

  4. Transport the rental mixer to your desired location.

  5. Once finished with the mixer, take it back. However, read the contract carefully to make sure you are returning it in the condition required so you will not be charged any additional fees.
