Projects in Veterinary Science

As a veterinarian student, there are many fields that you can go into and many projects to help you broaden your horizons in the animal world. Everything from keeping a volunteer journal to monitoring animal behavior is a way to learn more about the exciting field you have decided to become a part of.

Animal Behavior Monitoring

The best way to learn about animals is to study it and its behavior. Students can take part in an animal behavior monitoring program. The student will watch a certain animal for a certain length of time recording such things as its eating and sleeping habits, basically just creating a record of the animal’s daily routine.

Pet Care Tutorial Video

Pets that are well care of by their owners tend to thrive and live longer. Students can do research into the proper and loving way to care for animals and create a pet care tutorial video for pet owners. To make the video better and get the point across the student can use their own pet as a prop in the video.

Veterinary Volunteer Journal

The best way to get experience with animals is to volunteer to take care of and work with them. The student can then keep a journal of what they do with the animals and how the animals react. After the volunteer course is over the student can state in the journal what they liked and didn’t like and if they are still going to go into veterinary medicine as a career or not.
