How to Decorate Wine Glasses With Bows
Wine glasses can be decorated to dress them up for special occasions or parties or as a way to identify each glass so people do not forget which one is theirs. Bows are inexpensive and easy to make, which makes them a great wine glass decoration.
Items Needed:
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
Simple Bows
- Measure the ribbon to a length that is between 6 and 8 inches long. Cut the ribbon. Decide how many wine glasses you plan to decorate, and cut the right amount of ribbon pieces. If you are using the ribbons as a way to tell wine glasses apart, use a different colored ribbon for each glass.
- Loop the ribbon around the stem of the wine glass. Pull it up toward the bowl of the glass and center it.
- Cross both ends of the ribbon and make a knot. Make a loop with one end and wrap the second ribbon around the loop and through the hole. Pull each loop out to tighten the bow. Adjust the bow to obtain the desired look.
Wrapped Stem with a Bow
- Measure the ribbon to a length between 12 and 24 inches long. Cut the ribbon. Cut a ribbon for each wine glass you want to decorate.
- Cut a separate portion of ribbon to a length between 6 and 8 inches. This ribbon will be used for the bow. Cut as many pieces as necessary to decorate each glass.
- Add a small amount of hot glue to the top of the wine glass stem, directly under the bowl.
- Place one end of the ribbon against the hot glue to attach it to the stem.
- Wrap the ribbon tightly around the stem, moving down toward the base of the wine glass.
- Add another drop of hot glue to the end of the wine glass stem and press the free end against it.
- Use the smaller piece of ribbon to make a bow.
- Add a drop of hot glue to the base of the wine glass where the wrapped ribbon ends. Place the bow against the glue. Repeat for each glass.
