Yantic is a neighborhood of Norwich, Connecticut. There is no specific population of Yantic as it is not a town or even village. Yantic is named after the river that runs through it, it is also the historic district of Norwich. Because this part of the neighborhood was originally designated as being the mill town area, it has a grid pattern of streets. Businesses in the area include Pro Car Care and Music Center of Norwich. The mill that has been abandoned for nearly a century is in the process of becoming a hotel resort. The resort has been plagued with financial issues since the 1995-- it was considered the last ditch effort to revitalize the devastated economy of this part of the neighborhood. Kids in the area attend school in the Norwich school district.
