If I wanted Manhatten I would go to Manhatten!

These people are just their friends.. The place stinks!!! Oh Manhatten!! Are you kidding me it's in the middle of Millstone..Far from the city experience.. The food is good when it comes out at a decent time and cooked all the way. The poor servers are running around like crazy and the hostess wasn't friendly.. For those who say they haven't had a good meal in years and this was great, well I feel for you .. How sad and unrealistic that you needed to go to Luchentos to have a good meal... lol

10 across the board!

The service couldn't match the authentic, delightful food any better. The menu prices were perfect, and the dining room was so beautiful I could never ask for more. I will be sure to go back again and again, and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for good Italian food, with the service that every restaurant is striving for.

Excellence all over

Excellent food, Excellence service.
Was there Sunday night and experience the best meal in years. Very difficult to believe the reviews below when I overheard people talking to the owner or manager on my way out that they were so happy with their food, service and overall experience. Funny they are both from East Brunswick? For sure competition or something like it.
Now to the real positive matter.........
Appetizer and main entree were fabulous!
Tiramisu was out of this world and my friends carrot cake was a mile high and delicious.
I'll be for back for more. Thank you for a great evening!

Dinner with 6 on Sat Sept 4, 2010 - This is the FIRST I have ever done a restaurant review. But felt it my duty to my fellow man (and woman) to do so to warn you to save your time and money. 1) water glass was dirty with dried food on it (yech!). 2) Appetizers were served without utensils to serve them (like a large spoon) 3) Calamari appetizer was undercooked 4) pasta soup was tasteless 4) three of the six appetizers were not hot and had to be returned to be reheated 5) two of the entress were so tasteless (inlcuding my eggplant dish) they were returned and asked to be taken off the check. 6) awful service since the poor waitress didn't have a bus boy to help her. All in all a truly memorable evening- and for all the wrong reasons.

The worst ever!!

As a frequent diner at the original Luchentos, I was more than thrilled to see that this fine eatery was reopening with the original chef. I had been here with the previous owners and the food was sub-standard, but having eaten with these newest owners, not only was the food sub-standard, but the service was worse as was the attitude of the owner who made disparaging ethnic remarks when I complained. This place is not worth the money or the trouble to get here. Too bad.

mediocre food in great setting

First the good things,it is still BYOB (or you would have to take out another mortgage to pay for wine) the restaurant is modern, comfortable great decor..and that is where the good news stops. The waiters, who touch everything in the restaurant also touching your bread ,bare handed <shiver> we sat across from the waiter station, avoid that table ,unless you like people staring at you while you eat.and hear them complain about customers.Refills on drinks,we had to request them, service lack of attention, homemade gnocchi..were gummy and tough.their tomato sauce?sauce with a bit of basil (Hunts' comes to my mind) we didn't try the unoriginal desserts...went to Jake freeze and got a great ice cream cone instead/overall mediocre food in a great setting...

NOT GOOD BUSINESS SENSE

RECEIVED A GIFT CARD ONE WEEK BEFORE THEY CLOSED FOR TWO YEARS. NOW WHEN THEY HAVE REOPENED (UNDER THE SAME NAME) THEY DO NOT WANT TO HONOR THE CARD. THIS TELLS ME THEY CAN'T BE TRUSTED. THIS IS VERY BAD BUSINESS SENSE. NOT ONLY HAVE THEY LOST A GOOD AND FREQUENT CUSTOMER, BUT I WILL TELL AS MANY PEOPLE AS I CAN ABOUT THE WAY THEY GO ABOUT RUNNING THEIR ESTABLISHMENT.

MORE FOCUSED ON FANCY LOOK THAN QUALITY FOOD

Went to Luchentos last night. Heard great things about the new restaurant. We were all quite impressed with the new layout. Has a very upscale Manhattan feel to it. Far from the barn look it originally had. Service was quick. Food was on the cooler side of warm. Bread was stale and cold. Food was not up to the standards of the upscale feel it gives when you walk in. Prices are a bit inflated for what they serve. Albivi has much better food, service and pricing. Perhaps it was a bad night. However, first impression is the lasting impression. Quite disappointed with Lunchentos.

Perfect Banquet!

I happened on to this page while looking for Luchento's website to make dinner reservations so I have to leave my 2 cents. I was there for a baby shower last weekend. Everyone there had a lovely time, the room was beautiful, the food was absolutely delicious. The owners were around if anything was needed, but it wasn't. Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. I heard about this famous Luchento's salad from a guest at the party and finally got to try it - it was delicious and she swore it was the same from 4 years ago when she was there. It was good - so was our meal, I had eggplant parmesan. The other meal choice was chicken francaise and salmon lucci which everyone seemed to love too. We're going back for dinner this week and I'm hoping for a repeat of good food and service. It's a must try if you haven't been there yet. Thanks for a wonderful time, I know my friend loved her baby shower too - thank you for making it so nice for her!!

Absolutely Awesome

I went to check out the new Luchento's Restaurant over the weekend and YES I made reservations, since the buzz locally has been off the charts. If anyone thinks these are the old owners, they are mistaken, this place has been transformed into something quite special, I can't even compare it to anything in the nearby area. Its a Fusion of NYC dining meeting Jersey Pizazz.

As for the food, I had the this steak with a Guiness sauce, OMG...steak was done to a perfect med rare which I prefer and the reduction sauce was amazing, I wanted to bottle it up and take it with me, there was this incredible potato croquet with the meal which was fantastic as well. My girl had this grilled chicken with sausage drenched in another amazing sauce.

We had a great experience, the place looks amazing and the food is fantabulous. I will definitely go again soon, its worth the wait and the reservations and the pricing was fair and reasonable. Plus bring your own liquor and its even better.
