Unbelievable

I was a long time Luchentos customer and good friends of the family and my experience there was just like it used to be, fasntastic. I'm actually writing to just say that I can't believe that people actually get on here to bash a restaurant. Do people realize that when they do this that they are affecting people's lives, or do they care. If you dislike a restaurant then don't go back. To go on websites and completely bash a restaurant cause YOU didn't have a good experience is insane. What about the thousand people that have loved it so far. Waht about the waiters and cooks trying to support their families. Do you people think of that? When I was there I saw nothing but compliments thrown around. I realize that some of these bad reviews may be from a let go employee or local competition but it's still no excuse. Thank you to the managerment and staff at Luchentos. You will still be my regular hometown restaurant.

An Italian Restaurant the way it should be.

if anyone likes Real Italian Food in a Real Italian Restaurant, This is the place to go. Its a little pricey but hell this is Luchentos, in Millstone NJ, you get what you pay for. I heard they reopen last week and I decided to try it. I took my girlfriend here recently for a romantic dinner after work. The service was unbelievable. My glass never was empty. Water was constantly refilled . I never had to ask the waiter for anything, he asked me before I had the chance to look for him. And the food, Forget about it! I had Penne ala Vodka that was absolutely outrageous. My girl had Chicken Parmesan which she didnt shut up about the whole night, and she finds things wrong with everything. i definitely reccommend this place to anyone who appreciates unbelievable food and unbelievable service.

great time!

I went to Luchentos with a couple of friends and tried the Linguine pescatore as well the country chicken caserole, and for dessert we got tiramisu and cheesecake. Surprisingly the food was really tasty. The waiter was really nice and friendly, and went out of his way to give us a pleasant dining experience. Overall, my friends and I had a great experience at Luchentos and will definitely come back.

cozy place

Good Restaurant. Solid five. Big prices, big portions. I really like the atmosphere and the nice size of the restaurant. Server was good and new manager was very efficient making sure we were happy and comfortable with food and service. It was a long wait to be seated (30 min.) but it was well worth it. Everything we got was very tasty: good salads, really good pasta, delicious soup. I'd say its a good place to take your parents for a decent diner. I would recommend to anyone.

Just Bay

What a horrible experience! Hostesses were miserable and unfriendly. Service was poor and wait staff very inexperienced. Asked to take our orders before we were told of the specials. Manager just a lot of hot air. Came to our table but just fluff. After dinner our meal was boxed up but we had to ask for a bag. Wait staff tossed it at me. Bus person took my water away before our meal was over. When questioned she brought over a new glass and slammed it on the table. Food was marginal at best. To expensive for the quality. Clams Casino tasted of ketchup. Potato coquette was gross. Even the alad was lacking the quality of the Old Luchentos. It was very loud & not a relaxing dining experience. Awful loud "new age" music blaring. Restrooms dirty trash all over. It was a real disappointment. Whole experience was expensive and not the quality of NEW YORK or the OLD Luchento's. My bet is the place will be out of business in a year if it does not change. Good Luck.

different palce

I read the new reviews, the good reviews were definitely written by friends of the owners. No one who knew luchentos wanted a "NYC" experience. Especially the attitude they brought with it. This was horrible. Way too expensive for the pricing, nothing like the old luchentos. Very rude and apparently unhappy hostesses, missed the experienced poise of the servers at the old luchentos. We had a reservation but saw two families leave due to the inexperienced hostesses not seating people on time or fairly. A lot of glam, not a lot of good.

disappointing

Tread carefully when you use the name of a restaurant that has been a family favorite to hundreds of families for so long. ONLY thing reminiscent of the Old Luchentos is the name and the salad. Stopped in 1X to make reservations & ate a separate day. Service was poor to horrible- starting with the two very young, immature and rude hostesses, who lost our reservation and did not even make eye contact with us, not to mention the miserable look on their face both evenings. Our table was not bused, Waiter was not rude, but inexperienced, brought us an ice cream dessert with no spoons and poured other tables coffee and took another order before bringing us utensils. Bread was stale, butter too cold. Dinner was good, but not terrific. Nice note in the front of the menu about trying to make it an enjoyable experience but no evidence to support it. Nice renovations, but If you wanted to make a new resturant -do it, don't call it Luchentos. FAR cry from the old country italian we loved.

Luchentos must be Italian for "Outstanding Food."

My family and friends recently made our first trip to Luchentos since it just re-opened. I travel to NYC to eat very often, and after my experience at Luchentos, i can now save money on gas from traveling to the city. The ambiance grabs you right when you walk in with that Manhattan feel! The service from the servers was professional and very welcoming. The food was beyond amazing, it was outstanding!!! I had the Steak Arturo, cooked in a Guiness stout with green onions. it melts in your mouth, that was one of the best steaks i ever had. Not to mention i was trying everyone elses entrees. My brother got this cajun dish called Rouler. It was Tilapia with crawfish tails; that was one amazing dish. My kids, who are very picky, ended up eating their favorite, Scallops. the dish was called Scallops Cipriano, its worth getting it as an appetizer. The portions are tremendous, and the food is outstanding!! Cant wait to go back!

AWESOME MEALS, AWESOME SERVICE!!!!!!!

Let me tell you about this place.........We were customers for the last 20 years and can't believe that it finally opened after a long year of renovations.
The ambiance is first class, a piece of NYC in the middle of Millstone, NJ. But the best part of it all is that the food and service that we got over the weekend was EXCELLENT!!! The wait time was almost an hour but we sat down at their side patio and enjoyed a glass or two of wine. Btw, don't forget to BYOB since they don't have a liquor license.
We ordered fried calamari and a jumbo shrimp cocktail. Must say that the calamari was the best that I ever had. I thought that the shrimp cocktail was a little expensive until I saw the size of this "little lobster"! Huge shrimp, well worth the money.
Our entrees came in a timely fashion and the staff was well beyond professional.
I was totally surprised by the comments below. Maybe it was because of their opening week. Our experience at Luchentos was AWESOME. We'lll certainly be back.
