Bradford is a city located in Steuben County, New York. It is considered to be part of the Corning metro area. Some people say the city was named after Bradford, New Hampshire. Others claim it was named after William Bradford, a wealthy landowner. Students here attend the Bradford Central School District. The district only has one school, Bradford Central. The city is located within driving distance of Ithaca and Watkins Glen. Bradford depends on these larger cities for things such as employment, shopping and recreation. Watkins Glen is home to the Watkins Glen International Raceway and Watkins Glen State Park. Ithaca is home to such recreational activities as the Cayuga Nature Center and the Newman Golf Course.
