Inlet is a part of the Adirondack region of New York known for its rugged, rural setting and as the town where Chester Gillette murdered his paramour Grace Brown in 1906. This slaying later spawned the inspiration for Theodore Dreiser's novel "An American Tragedy". Major attractions include Clark's Marina and Black Bear Lodges on Fourth Lake. Each year in the summer season the annual Arts in the Park Craft Fair is held, and the autumn months in Inlet see the annual Fall Festival take place. A few other companies in Inlet include Drake's Inn, Rocky Point Properties, and Nelson's Cottages. The biggest schools here belong to the Inlet Common School District. One of the best places to visit when you are in Inlet is Tony Harper's Pizza and Clam Shack.
