La Fayette is a part of the Syracuse metro area of New York known for its apple orchards. The town was part of the former Central New York Military Tract which gave land to Revolutionary War veterans. Major attractions include Orchard Vail Golf Club and Beak and Skiff Apple Farm. Each year in the fall season the town holds an Apple Festival. Among the local businesses in La Fayette are Magnolia's Garden and Watson Farms. The La Fayette Central School District provides education to the town. One of the best places to visit when you are in La Fayette is Marietta House Restaurant.
