I.C.E. KEYTAGS- MORE THAN JUST A BUSINESS

We would like to share a moment when our tags could have helped, and hope that this helps bring into focus the real value of what I.C.E. is all about. In January 2009, my mother was living in a seniors complex in Florida. At 74, Mom was fully self sufficient, still driving, and able to take care of all of her daily activities just fine.On the night of January 8th, she left some friends and settled in front of her TV. The next morning she was found unconscious in her apartment by some concerned friends. Rushed to the hospital, she was coherent, but was suffering from a burst aneurysm in her brain. It was over 7 hours later when my sister, who lived locally, finally got the call that Mom was in the hospital. By the time she got there, Mom had slipped into a coma from which she never recovered. There is no doubt that the delay prevented our family from being able to have some time with Mom before she spoke her last words. We found her keys on the kitchen table. What if I.C.E. Keytags had come along a few years earlier? What if we had given the paramedics or one of those concerned neighbors a fighting chance of finding my sister's phone # at 9am - rather than 4pm? Having those few hours with her would have been priceless. The article we have linked to fromEMS1.com (click here)describes a few of the many scenes repeated day in and day out where family members lost out on a chance to comfort a loved one in distress, and to possibly have some last goodbyes while they are still alive. Although it's not pleasant to think about...what if a tag you helped to get into someone's hands helped just one family in their hour of need? The last line of the article is heartbreaking - and I have been there myself."I wanted to be there to let her know she's not alone, that Mom was there," Betty Dubinin said. "To not be there when she needed me most is the source of a lot of guilt for me."As we move forward to bring the I.C.E. Keytag into public consciousness, let's remember that it is more than a marketing tool. As we say on our main site...it's...."perhaps the most valuable piece of plastic you may ever own".Please make sure you and your loved ones have a tag on your key rings. Make sure the elderly and others who might live alone and for whom you care about have one too.We came on the scene too late for my Mom. Now there is no excuse. We provide a simple, inexpensive, but important service. Asking businesses to sponsor our ability to get this out into the public's hand...how can they refuse, if they really understand it?----Tom Force - Owner, ICE KEYTAGSfind out more athttp://www.nyicekeytags.com/
