Oswego is known as the Port City of Central New York. Its beautiful waterfront is complemented by the maritime theme found within the city. Our many parks afford a panoramic view of Lake Ontario, and we offer a beautifully-preserved historical site at Fort Ontario.

While you’re here, you can shop in some of our unique stores or just relax by the water and feel the refreshing lake breeze. You should also stay and witness one of our astonishing sunsets. You’ll feel right at home strolling through town as the friendly people of Oswego greet you.

Oswego is centrally located in New York State, making it convenient to all markets in the Northeast United States and Canada. We boast a diverse industrial base and a New York State Empire Zone designation, making Oswego attractive to business.

The State University of New York at Oswego and our excellent school systems offer outstanding educational opportunities.

We offer sailing, power boating, nearby sandy beaches, and world-class sport fishing, which all combine to make Oswego a great recreational destination. Our Harborfest celebration in late July is considered one of the best festivals in the United States.

If you’re a racing enthusiast, chart your course to the famous Oswego Speedway, which offers short-track supermodified racing every Saturday night during the summer months.

But, aside from its sights and what it offers, Oswego is its people. They are hard-working men and women who are dedicated to preserving the charm, history, and beauty of this unique city.

It is my distinct honor to represent the friendly residents of Oswego and to welcome you to the Port City of Central New York.
