Port Jefferson is a village in the town of Brookhaven, which is located in Suffolk County, New York. A small town, who's tourism industry is growing, is home to many small unique store and restaurants. Because of it's location on the North Shore of Long Island, it is home to natural deep water harbors such as Port Jefferson Harbor and Setauket Harbor. The city's Pirate Cove, formerly known as Seaboard Hole, is appealing to tourists because of it's large sand mounds. Most of the students here attend the Port Jefferson Free Union School District. The city is host to the annual Charles Dickens Festival, as well as smaller festivals.
