So you still haven't visited us for afternoon tea?
Things have changed around here when it comes to afternoon tea. For starters, we now serve tea on Wednesdays through Sundays from 1-4 p.m. with prior reservations only. Since we are not a restaurant, but a B&B;, we need a little time to get everything ready for you. Call us at least a day in advance. If it's a special day for you and a friend or friends, be sure to let us know as soon as you have a date in mind. We'll do our best to help you out. We can serve up to 15 people at a time. Our tea is now a 4-course tea. As the weather has changed and there is a distinct chill in the air, we'll serve you one of our homemade soups when you arrive. Our current favorite is "Creamy Carrot Ginger Peanut" soup. We are also adding "Curry Apple" soup which has just a bit of a "zip" to it for those who love curry. We've added new sandwiches--actually "crostini"--which are open-faced small sandwiches on toasted bread. We've added a super "smoked salmon" and "cucumber dill" crostini that our guests have really enjoyed. As always, you will have our homemade cream scones that we strive to make melt in your mouth. We serve authentic clotted cream with strawberry jam--not an American imitation of clotted cream! We still serve Tarte Aux Fruits and Creme Brulee as well as a variety of sweets for your last dessert. This is all served with your choice of tea from our growing collection. You can decide which tea you'd like when you arrive. If you're interested, we can also offer you a "tea tasting" of a variety of teas.
