Mercer is a part of the Madison County region of Tennessee known for its Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum and West Tennessee Delta Heritage. Major attractions include Highland Golf Course and Sculley Golf Course & Driving. Each year in the summer season there is the Madison County Fair. Among the biggest companies in Mercer are Mid-South Farmers Co-Op and Mercer Gin. The biggest schools here are Mercer High School and the Mercer Middle School. One of the best places to visit when you are in Mercer is Cypress Grove Nature Park.
