Portland, Tennessee, is located by I-65, and just south of the Tennessee/Kentucky, border. The nearest airport, is the Nashville International Airport, and is about 33 miles from the center of Portland. Portland has a Comfort Suites, and a Deerfield Inn. There are several restaurants, including The Gossett House for occasions, and Old Time Fixins. Land and tobacco, were the attraction to Portland. Later, in the 1920s, strawberries became the source of business. Portland's Hwy 22 and Hwy 52, are known for being very small, and if a car does drive by, it has raised the question, "What are y'all doing here."
