Silerton is a town Hardeman County, Tennessee. The population was 60 at the 2000 census. The median age was 43 years and the median income for a household in the town was $17,083. In 1923 Silerton was incorporated as a municipality by a private act of the state legislature. Hardeman County is in West Tennessee, one of the states three "grand divisions". Formed in 1823 from Hardin County and Indian lands, it was named in honor of Thomas Jones Hardeman Creek and War of 1812 Soldier.
